Great news - Bethel in my country is closing down...

it was presented as a proof jhvh is blessing and aproving wtbs and of course as a sign that the end is so close.... recently i had with my mil discusions about wtbs selling their property in many countries and cuting costs... she did not believe me..... last week we went to visit her and she told me there was an anouncment at her meeting, that bethel is closing down and the building will be sold.
only translating department will remain in the country in other premises and everything else will be moved to slovakia.. recently there is bethel closing down in spain and italy and several assembly halls being sold here in europe.. i hope this will open eyes to many jw to see the gb in fact does not believe in end being so close .... albert.

Iam sure they will make some "special pioneers" for at least one year, to keep them quiet and have the change smooth...
All of them are potential apostates.
Veru true... BTW czech Bethel did produce a great number of high quality apostates... maybe that was one reason for closing down...

The other day she was telling me it must be the Truth, if there is such increase ... So I just pulled two latest yearbooks from her library and read her statistics for Europe - it is all about -1% or 0% ... She looked like she did not see it before...

I have no Idea. Probably Croatia or Germany.
He is a good guy by the way. He came over here to settle down problems with the troublemaking branch coordinators. 3 of them were deleted in 2002 and WTBS obviously did not trust locals anymore, so they rather sent here a foreigner...

when visiting my mil, we avoid jw issues, but she usually pops up some topic.. last time she disagred, when i said, that wt encourages shunning within the family.
(we live in central europe, and here really most jw do not shun df/da family members, general rule is just to avoid "spiritual discussions" with them).

Some time ago, I was a member of a cult, that insisted this did really happen. At one meeting the speaker did explain, that this action was necessary to glorify Jehovahs name and we should not be sorry for anybody executed by Jehovah. All cult memebers did agree with this explanation, so it must be true.

When I told her, local JW are just not strict in that issue, but WT teaches you should shun even within the family, she said its not possible and I promised I will bring some WT quotations next time.
Since I do not have WT Library in English available, does anybody know about WT quotes, saying you should shun even family member if they are DF / DA?

In fact you as a surviving JW would be married and live for trillions of trilliions years... If universe exists just 15 000 000 000 years, you would live billions and billins times longer...
As for me me - when I was an active JW I didnt think abóut it in detail. Today I see it would be a nightmare to live forever and ever... Its not a thousand or a million year - its forever, you are traped in your life and you cannot escape it.
As for me now - I got used to the idea I will die one day. As billions of people have died before me. As billiions of animals have died before me. As billions of people will die after me. Not a big deal, you get used to it.
If I was to live forever, I would like to have a hope to upgrade one day to a higher level of life in another world or reality (you can call it Haeven or Nirvana or whatever...)
